Radiograph and CT study of a 70-year old patient with viral pneumonia. The radiograph demonstrates rather discretely increased interstitial markings. The CT study two days later reveals distinct septal and peribronchial thickening as well as extended ground-glass infiltration with associated reticular changes predominantly in the right upper lobe.
Radiograph and CT study of a 54-year old patient with severe pneumonia. The radiograph demonstrates a streaky increase in opacity in both lungs. The CT study reveals primarily ill-defined nodules as well as thickening of the peribronchial interstitial space and consolidation in the left lower lobe. Bronchoalveolar lavage identified CMV.
